Hello, this is English explained with Addie; my name is Addie and I´m here to explain English grammar and pronunciation tips. Hope you help along the way to become fluent in English. This video is about the phrasal verb “to get over something” I´m going to explain it and give you a few examples I hope it´ll helps.

Phrasal verbs exercise: “To get over something”, there is a couple of meanings for this expression to get over something; the first is to recover from an illness, loss or difficulty. For example: I just got over a cold and now my sister has it. Meaning I just recover for my cold, and now my sister has it. Ok next one.

This example is to recover from a difficulty, difficulty in believe in something, difficulty in whatever, so “I can´t get over George`s behaviour. I am so disappointed” meaning I´m having difficulty recovery from the difficulty of George`s behaviour. I am so disappointed. You got it? Ok

Next one, to get over something in the sense of to overcome a problem. Here we go: “The shop will have to close if it can´t get over the new regulations” so this means if it can´t overcome the new regulations, then the shop is going to have to close. So is to overcome something, ok? All right, that`s all for now.

Thank you for listening. This video was brought to you by www.aulaingles.es and made by me Addie.
